Artist Bio

June Harris – Mixed Media Artist - BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices at the University of the Highlands and Islands.

June Harris is a Scottish mixed media artist specialising in an interdisciplinary approach. She frequently explores printmaking, textiles, and sculpture, employing sustainable materials, handmade paper, inks, and dyes.

Influenced by Land Art and Eco-Art philosophies, Harris's work analyses current environmental and social issues, focusing on the themes of people, place, and nature. Her inspiration comes from the Scottish environment and wider cultural heritage. She looks to uncover connections between local inspiration and broader contexts.

During her studies, Harris showcased her artworks on campus and in public exhibitions, collaborating with Visual Communications and Music Business students. She facilitated art-based workshops, both online and in person. Work placements at The Gleneagles Hotel and Mindspace in Perth culminated in the design and development of a community wellbeing garden. In 2019, Harris was honoured with the NC Art and Design Student of the Year award.
